DRI (dietary reference intakes)
The DRIs are a set of reference values for nutrient intake published by the National Academies, including the RDA, the AI, the EAR and the AMDR. They describe population reference points rather than personal prescriptions.
Example
The protein RDA of 0.8 g/kg is a DRI value: it is set to meet the needs of nearly all healthy adults, not to be optimal for any particular one.
