eAG (estimated average glucose)
eAG is an average blood glucose figure calculated from an A1C result, using the regression published by the ADAG study in 2008. The word "estimated" is load-bearing: it comes from a population fit, and individuals at the same A1C had meaningfully different real averages.
Example
eAG in mg/dL = 28.7 × A1C − 46.7. At A1C 6.0% that is 126 mg/dL, or about 7.0 mmol/L.
